Antonio Cesaro is one of the most talked-about superstars on the current WWE roster due to his freak-of-nature strength, his unique wrestling repertoire and – thanks to John Cena – his nipples. And now, the Big Swingin’ Swiss, 33, has revealed how the armchair wrestling fan can build an Adonis physique without breaking the bank on personal trainers.

6ft 5in grafter Cesaro has a shot for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship title at the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view event on February 23 at the Target Center in Minneapolis, when he collides with defending titlist Randy Orton, Cena, Seamus, Daniel Bryan and Christian.

Listening to Cesaro speak outside of Kayfabe plot-twists one becomes as absorbed in his dedication as one would be if it was Cena speaking about commitment and philanthropy or Big E Langston about lifting… Cesaro not only strives to maintain peak physical condition, but improve his strength, speed and stamina.

Providing tips on how fans can maximise their own potential, Cesaro told WWE: “Be honest with yourself and don’t make excuses, which means you have to be accountable.”

Nutrition is obviously important, he adds: “Don’t eat bad food. Only eat good food. Don’t say, ‘Oh, it doesn’t matter if I ate bad once.’ No. You never eat bad, and you get in the habit of eating good.

“Go to the gym every day and build a routine. You get in that routine and it takes about two months to build a habit or a routine. So you stick with it, and once you stick with it, then you have a good diet and a good routine.

“Stick to the basic exercises and do them well. You don’t have to worry about doing a bicep curl on a BOSU [exercise] ball while squatting down. You have to worry about doing basic maneuvers.

“Keep things simple. Do squats, deadlifts and some kind of press. Base your routine around those lifts.

“Finally, have fun. If these tips don’t sound like fun to you, then you’re probably not as motivated as you think you are to get in shape.”
